Route1 MobiKey Supported with Fusion 2.0.4? posted: Jun 15, 2009 3:40 PM

I just tried using my new MobiKey to access work and discovered that I can't even see the device in Fusion. Are MobiKeys supported? I saw a press announcement from 2006 indicating a strategic partnership between Route1 and VMware. Any suggestions?

Thanks,
Jim

Probably because the product is horrible! I tried it out a few weeks ago and felt so let down. The so-called "security" of it is suspect too...

Can you get a log with USB debugging enabled as in Information Gathering for VMware Fusion?

Peachconsulting, what problems did you run into? What are your security concerns?

I was just talking to another user about MobiKeys, and it turns out they're HID-class devices. We don't need the log anymore.

The reason this is happening is that to prevent you from shooting yourself in the foot, Fusion normally screens out HID-class devices (such as keyboards and mice) to prevent you from locking yourself in a virtual machine. You can override this with a setting described in A Power User's Guide to VMware Fusion.
