THat can only happen if vCenter for Linux either builds in the ability or uses PAM modules for authentication. I would hope PAM Modules as it is very easy and well known how to configure PAM inside Linux.
I was waiting to see what the next version of this would be before added LDAP myseld but it's been sometime and no news from the developers - anybody know, do they have a blog or something. Really interested to see how the MySQL integration is coming along, if indeed it is
