I have a DL360 G6 with 2 new Intel Xeon 5504's. Has anyone had any experience with enabling hyperthreading on this series of processor? Any significant gain or any significant drawbacks?

Im using ESXi 3.5 U4, btw...

Thanks for your thoughts.

Chris

from what I've heard HT has been improved with the nehalem and enabling it could potentially boost performance between 10-20 percent. I think it's worth to try at least.

You may find this other thread enlightening. We've done a fair amount of work analyzing Nehalem's Hyper-Threading on ESX 3.5 and ESX 4.0.
