So here are my suggestions for finding an VMware advocate for yourself.
1) look at existing customers who are extremely happy with what you have done for them.
2) Work with your local VMware SE or Sales person. No doubt they have a number of people who are more than willing to help out.
3) (shameless promotion) Suggest that your potential client attend the New England VMware User Group Event in Newport Rhode Island on April 30th, where they can network with over 300 Users and see how VMware is being used in the real world.
