Hi all,

I'm just wondering how does everyone handle/monitor the possible loss of the license server.

It seems to me that it could fail (possably even while the windows service still runs) and I would never know.....until I cant power on a VM :_|

Would I see alerting on my VI Client during the grace period?

Is there an e-mail alert?

Is anyone doing anything else to protect themselves from this possability?

Remote chance I hear you say and I agree but thats always the one that will have you up at 3am trying to contact support.

Joe

well, you can always have a spare license server, and point your infrastructure to it when something/someone hits your server (remember, it can be virtual)

Jose

Umm i dont think there is sucha feature from Vmware.....yess the VC will go into grace period when Licens e server is not available....so the best thing is to right a script which will notify when the license server service in not working...or the rremote machine where license server is installed is not working or not reachable....
