ESXi support for RAID controllers on motherboards? posted: Feb 22, 2009 11:10 AM

I have a motherboard with an intel ICH9R chipset. And ESXi can see individiual disks just fine.

But if I have them drives arranged in a RAID configuration (using the RAID controller BIOS), then ESXi doesn't see it.

I was hoping I could use the RAID built into my motherboard to set up mirroring, but I don't seem to be able to do that...

I do not believ it is supported with that chip set - check out http://communities.vmware.com/message/1031409#1031409
