Hi!!

I have a problem which I think is simple.
I am using VMware 6.5.1 in linux as the host and windows as the guest.
I needed to include "xkeymap.nokeycodeMap = true" in the file /etc/vmware/config to enable my windows guest machine see the laptop keyboard of my linux host machine. I experienced problems with some keys like arrows, ctrl, alt, end, pgup... the change in this file solved this bug.
But now, very smartly, every time I try to enter Unity, vmware send a awareness about this change in the form of question, warning about the keyboard, which the only answer is 0.
So, the front end freezes waiting the response!!!
Do someone knows how to solve this problem? (Remove this annoyning message/question)

The message is:

VMware Workstation Hint:

However, this program's language-specific mapping may not be correct for your keyboard in all the details, because X keyboard mappings vary.

Hey guys, please!

This stuff is not in the manual.


And I wouldn' t like to run vmware from the console only to use unity.


Could somebody help me to kill this annoying message?

I am having the exact same issue, anyone who may have a solution for this please give us one.

I can not use any of my VM's in Unity as long as this entry is in the config file.

Some other people had the same problem (possibly they not noticed the weird message), and they said if you fix the keymap problem explicitly, unity will work fine.

I am really disappointed with this forum. I think the VMware team only pay attention to Windows host problems.

Instead to add "xkeymap.nokeycodeMap = true" to config file, try to set the keymap explicitly.
