Has VMWorld 2009 for the U.S. been announced yet? If so, what is the location? Florida? New York?

I liked vegas, it gave you something to do after the conference. There will be things to do in San Francisco as well but not to the extent of Vegas. Maybe I'm a little over SF since I live 30min away and go there every now and then, but what is there to do in SF when you're done with a day at VMworld? Walk around Union Square, go to Pier 39? Alchatraz? I would think if Baseball season is around to go to a Giants game even though they are horrible now it still is a nice ballpark. If anyone is up for the challange, if you want real go carting (unlike the ones at the party in vegas) they have an indoor track where you get all suited up and get to actually race without getting kicked off the track for someone else crashing. I'm officially calling out vmroyale for a rematch.

I can't vouch for the past 2 years, but at VMworld2006 in LA, I never had that problem. I had things "scheduled" every night - from Monday thru Wednesday - the only downtime I had was about 5 hours between the end of the conference Thursday afternoon and my flight Thursday night. And that had nothing to do with the location of the conference.

I'm officially accepting that challenge, although I'm not expecting it to be much of a challenge!

Does anyone know the cost of VMworld 2009 and what kind of hotel options will be available? I need to submit my request so it can be budgeted. The website say the same pricing as 2008 but I don't know what the price as I couldn't go in 2008.

Yeah and to add to the previous poster's question. Will there be a VCP discount or does that only count for VMworld Europe.

Cheers
