I have just performed a fresh install of Windows XP SP3 and VMWare Workstation 6.0.5. I installed a new virtual machine with Ubuntu 8.10 image. When I startup the virtual machine, the audio indicator in the bottom right goes green and the machine freezes.If I set the sound adaptor to not "Connect at power on" the machines boots fine. I am using an Audigy 2 sound card with the latest drivers from Creative. I don't experience any problems when creating guests that are Windows Vista, XP, etc.
