If you need help, post your error here, so someone can look at it.
If you want to complain find the number to the customer service. This is not a right place.

Hello,

From the forum administrator:

It's obvious to me, looking over your post history, that you know what forums are **supposed** to be used for.

Therefore, I don't need to tell you that composing a post which looks like a question, but which actually contains NO technical questions, isn't the right thing to do.

I'm not going to lock or delete this post yet. But you need to make it into a worthwhile post. I'm assuming that this thread is related to this other thread you've been posting in:

http://www.vmware.com/community/thread.jspa?threadID=7598

If that's the case, then you're going to need to post some technical information about what you've gone through. You can't expect the forum users to review your post history to find out about your problems. Information you could be putting here:

-An excerpt from your VMWare LOG FILE from a session in which you get the lockup.

-Any associated errors you might be seeing in your host or guest OS logs.

-Information about your host system (make, model, installed OS)

-Information about what version of VMware you're using

-An exact description of your problem as you see it

In a nutshell, I'm pretty much gonna lock this thing and move it to the archive forum if the content doesn't improve.

-Daryll

I see...

Hi jbeiter:

I look thought the other post, I think you had a good point on the usb part.
can you please try this:
open your .vmx file add
usb.newcore = false

I'm not sure this will help, but worth a try, see I have is pop to my mind just because you mentioned ps2 mouse.
Let me know

I'd also check the host kernel logfiles (dmesg, /var/log/messages) to see if there are any interesting complaints there.

Hi all,

I'm having exactly the same problem that jbeiter suffers.

Machine: Dell Optiplex GX280
Host: RHEL WS 3 (2.4.21)
Guest: Windows 2000 (SP 4)
VMware: 4.5.2

I'm not having this problem on any other Dell machines (GX 240,260,270). I'm almost sure that the problem is occurring because of usb mouse. No lockups in fullscreen mode. None of the suggestions in this post didn't work.

I'd appreciate any help. Thanks

Hi jbeiter:

I just come back from a business trip, I will look into the logs. In the main time, can you try this VM on another host? The idea is to see if the problem is on the vm or the host. Another test will be good if you can creat another VM on the same host, see if the same problem occurs.
I will let you know if I find a useful information from the log or not...
