Problem with booting ESX 3.5 U2 on Sun x6250 blade server.

Hi. I have got a problem with ESX 3.5 U2 on Sun x6250 blade server. An error has occurred during booting ESX server. In default boot mode ESX booting stops with message: “Backtrace
for vmkchdev (295):”.This message repeating for many times
every 1-2 minutes:

In debug mode, I have got a next
errors:

I can boot in trobleshooting mode only.

I find a one discussion in SUN forum about this problem: http://forums.sun.com/thread.jspa?threadID=5332344&tstart=0.

Have any ideas?

Hello,

Try the following :

  • Power down the blade

  • Remove it from the Blade chassis

  • Put the Blade back into the chassis and power it on

This should solve your problem. SUN is aware of the problem and they are working on a fix. What I mentionned above is the workaround they gave me.

Hello,

Interesting but not helpful :(

I solved this problem by adding entry /vmkernel/mpsIntRouting = "TRUE" in /etc/vmware/esx.conf .
