Anyone else still having issues today? The site is extremely slow for me. Also at times it will show certain threads as having replies to them and later when I refresh a page the threads have no replies. I seem to recall someone mentioning using a host entry for communities.vmware.com but I cannot find the post. Does anyone know if this helps at all?

Roberthttp://communities.vmware.com/people/RDellimmagine mentioned that people far away from the California http://communities.vmware.com/message/1069990#1069990 servers may experience more trouble than those geographically closer. Do those in the US experience as many troubles as those of us outside of North America? I'm personally in Tokyo and while normally the site works quite well most of the time it has been quite poor this past week.

As an example after I posted this threaI returned to the VMTN main page about 5minutes later. The site is showing my thread as being updated however I changed nothing and it appears as though no one has replied to my post. Please see attached pic. I tried to attach the file by clicking on the 'Insert/edit Image' button but it generated the following error.

Had to edit a third time as the initial editing messed up the formating of the first few paragraphs.

I have been having System Error issue on and off for about 3 days. I have also not had a points calc for 4 days, but that is another story. they may be linked in some way.

If you found this or any other answer useful please consider the use of the Helpful or correct buttons to award points

I also have the point issue. In all likelyhood they are related in some way. Can anyone in N.A confirm whether or not your points are being tallied correctly?

If I'm not mistaken then the points are only tallied once every 24 hours... have not seen them increase much on my end either, but I dont' check them all the time.
If your points haven't gone up in 4 days then that certainly is an issue.

K-MaC, there's been poor performance INSIDE North America too... since day one, for over 1 full year now! The performance of this forum is abyssmal for me, whether at work or at home, whatever browser I use, etc. There appears to be no rhyme or reason, no common denominator except this site and the Clearspace software they are using.

The past few days the forum is really behaving badly again... you can speed it up a bit by:
1. disabling the fancy smanchy javascript as the page is then a lot smaller (and less buggy, like you don't loose your edits anymore as the back button then still works)
2. by using an alternative akamai node, some are really bad, some are good... search this group for hints on changing over to another node if it is really bad for you now.

After arriving at work this morning and using the site for a little it seems that things are back to 'normal' for what its worth. Thanks to everyone, hopefully one day soon there will be no more need for threads like this.

Cheers
