How to disable memory swap file on ESXi

Hi all,

I am newcomer to ESXi after working a while on VMWare Server. There is a configuration in VMware server "mainMem.useNamedFile" that suppress the creation on memory swap file. Please advise whether this feature is there in ESXi? This option has helped to solve performance issue in VMware Server. Please advise how it can be done in ESXi as well

Thanks.

Set the memory reservation equal to the assigned mem size for the VM... That way no .vswp file is created during Power On..

Hi,

why do you think you should change this option on an esx host?

vmware server and the esx technology are not comparable

what performance problems did you expect?

When the memory reserved equal to VM memory size, an vswp file with zero byte is created instead. Anyway, this help solve the disk I/O bottleneck on multiple running VM. Thanks a lot.
