Lifecycle Manager orchestrator config issue - SSL error posted: Apr 10, 2008 6:38 AM

I keep getting an error when trying to add a VI3 host to the configuration - SSL exception, 'SSL certificate is missing for this host'

I have imported the Certificate from the host using the URL option in the SSL Certificates tab and all seems ok there however I still get the error above.

VM LCM is installed on the VC 2.5 server (W2k3 EE) and AD is running on the same server. A SQL 2000 Database is on a different server and I have connected to this with no issues. All the new tables have been created in the VC database.

Any ideas

Sorted!

A good old fashioned Windows reboot sorted it.

It looks like some MS component wasn't happy with the weather or some other random reason. :-)

Hehe, this solution was too easy, but I also found rebooting the Virtual Center host might be usefull when things go wrong.

I think that a simple restart of the VMO configuration server service (login into the Orchestrator Configurator as admin -> VMWare VI3 section -> click on "Restart VMO configuration server" link) should have been enough.

Rebooting the entire vCenter produced the same effect, just because doing this the service restarted :)
