Is Silicon Image SIL3124 SATA2 host controller supported under ESX 3.5 ?

Hi all,

Just wondering if anyone is running this controller with ESX 3.5, I'm building some test boxes for VMware and see these cheap controllers on Ebay for under $50 - I'd run them in RAID10 ?

Cheers

ESX will recognize the below devices, but you might be able to get it to work with this method - http://www.vm-help.com/esx/esx3.5/SATA_mounting_root_failed.html

As an alternative, here's a list of systems that have been tested with 3.5 / 3i.

Thanks Dave,

I think I'll just go for different adapter, for extra $50 I can get 6 port SATA2 2610SA controller which works fine in my other server.

Many thanks
