I'm running VMware Fusion 1.1 on a MacBook, 2.16 Intel, 2GB, OSX 10.4.9.

Running Windows XP Professional.

For several games I tried, (I know, I know... it's only games) I get the following error on starting up the game:

"This application cannot run with an active debugger in memory. PLease unload the debugger and restart the application."

I can find nothing in the XP documentation about a "debugger". What is it, and how can I remove it, and would it hep anyway?

Thanks a lot.

Oh, one game I'm having this on is "Children of the Nile"

This is probably a poor error message on the game's part. They are probably confusing being in a virtual machine with running under a debugger (to be fair, this is one of the possible uses of a virtual machine). To test this theory, you could try adding the following line to your .vmx:
monitor_control.restrict_backdoor = "TRUE"

This will also disable other things, such as VMware Tools. You should complain to the game's manufacturer about this unfair restriction.
