Good evening,
I was wondering if there are any potential issues with installing the VMWare Tools for Windows on a physical (non-VM) machine. I frequently copy my work machine into a VM on my MacBook Pro when traveling, to avoid carrying two laptops. I have this down to an art, but I'd like to skip having to install the VMWare Tools each time when I first boot into the VM. So...
1) Can I install the VMWare Tools on a physical machine? Is there anything about the installer that would prevent it?
2) Will they impact the physical machine in any way? I would assume not, since the drivers wouldn't be loaded by Windows.
3) Will they function properly and seamlessly come up when I copy this machine to a VM, or is this all for naught?
Thanks!
