Web Service Not Available Error

Well after various trials and re-configurations, I now seem to have Server 2 Beta on CentOS 5 running with ports 81/443 and I set the remote connection prot to 902. I can start the vmware service (service vmware start) just fine and get to the login screen at http://192.168.1.225:81. But when I try to login I get a "Web Service Not Available Error". The /var/log/vmware/hostd.log shows...

Re: Web Service Not Available Error

I used to have VMWare server 1.0.4 and got the "Failed to do SSL handshake" error which is why I upgraded to the version 2 beta.

Are you also getting those SSL messages?

Re: Web Service Not Available Error

As pointed out by somebody out there in the forum, in Windows XP you must ensure that the service named "webAccess" (maybe VMware should change it to something like "VMwareVIWA") called "VMware Virtual Infrastructure Web Access" is started.

You can start it manually with the command:

net start webAccess

or looking out the status of the service "VMware Virtual Infrastructure Web Access" and start it if it's stopped.

After you start it, you will see the tomcat5.exe proccess running.
