Everything I've seen so far says that the hostRAID software feature found on some Adaptec SCSI controllers (in my case, on IBM x346 servers) is not supported in 3.0.2. Can someone confirm if this is still true? This becomes an issue when I'm trying to use 34 GB drives in a RAID 0 configuration to get enough space on local drives to install VMs for certification purposes. The installation sees it as separate drives. I tried to install a hostRAID driver from IBM's site for RHEL3 U8 using the "esx dd" command. But the driver image is too big to fit on a floppy and ESX install doesn't recognize my usb drive. The only other option I see is to order larger drives for my x346 servers but I'd like to avoid that if possible.

This is still true. Hostraid is more or less a software raid with some ASIC support (most of the logic is in the driver).
You can easily see this when using a hostraid adapter in a non Windows system.
FreeBSD for example won't see a RAID volume but two independent disks.
