Scsi disk to ide posted: Oct 16, 2007 6:07 PM

I, apparently, installed my virtual machine as a scsi disk. Is it possible to change this to ide? Will this

make a difference? I am getting a warning when I start up about some scsi hardware not installed.

Thanks.

It's OK and can actually be more performant to run with a SCSI disk. What form is the error (a Fusion dialog)? What's the exact error message?

It sounds as if your virtual machine is working okay: that is, it's
booting up and working. If it were missing the driver that that
warning dialogue concerns, it wouldn't boot at all.

Just
click the box for "Never show this message again." Trust me:
converting the VM to use IDE virtual disks could make it slower and
will definitely have no other benefit.

What Brian said. The message is benign so long as XP boots and doesn't BSoD immediately (indicating lack of scsi drivers). Click don't show again and carry on.
