Hi All,

i Have 2 HP DL585 Servers and with this servers vmotion Problems :(

DL585-g1 has got AMD Opteron (tm) Processor 885 CPUs
and
DL585-g2 Dual-Core AMD Opteron(tm) Processor 8220

I look in the Knowledge Base on vmware and with one Parameter (on Virtual mashine Advanced Paraemter) i am able to turn out this failure message in Virtual Center.

But, is someone using this combination in production environment and is this supported and working really ?

We just integrated two 585 G2 servers into our main HA / DRS cluster which consisted of three 585 G1 servers.
I've had to use the AMD specific override ---- 0--- ---- ---- ---- ---- ---- ---- in the last edx line under level 80000001 in order to have vmotion work between the G1 and G2 servers.

This is working for about 98% of our sessions with the exception of a few that I'll need to do some more research on.

We've had no VMotion issues, but after upgrading an existing cluster (two DL585 G1 and one DL585 G2) to ESX 3.5 update 2, we're unable to re-establish HA.

Has anyone ever seen this before, and do you know how to fix it?
