I am getting ready to setup a dual boot system with VIsta and Linux. I would like to run VMWare under Linux and am wondering what the version is typically being used.
Jim!
Lots of options, I have always liked the Red Hat distributions.
Choose one that you are familiar with and on the VMware Server sopported list.

I prefer RHEL but also like Debian.
My problem is that I am a newbe at using Linux. I want something that is user friendly on the front end, but remains thin. I basically am using this to learn about Linux and run VMware sessions in an efficient environment.
I will look at the list though.
Since it doesn't seem like you are set in your ways when it comes to linux - try CentOS 4.5 (rhel 5 is unsupported). It's RHEL 4.5 (free version) and should meet you requirements.

No problem, don't forget to award points using the Helpful/Correct buttons.....thanks
We are using SLES/SLED with VMWARE and it works smashingly well...and it is really easy to use. The folks on here are right when they say that it works with many different Linux builds...you just need to try a few and see which feels like the right flavor for you.
