Have you tried downloading from here

https://my.vmware.com/web/vmware/details/vc50/dHRAYnQldEBiZHBqcA

If not probably I think you would need active subscription to download vcenter 5.0, But you can register for vCenter 5.1

I use vShere Client connect to the 5.0 host and navigate via "Deploy from VA Marketplace" to the download page and login. Then I was pointed to 5.1 Pre-evluation page. I once saw a message like "reactivating your subscribtion and come back soon to check" somehwere but can never find it again. I went through authorized 5.0 training class and am preparing for 5.0 cert exam.

Do you know how to reactivate my subscribtion to get vCenter 5.0? I'm dead in the water now.

I went through authorized 5.0 training class and am preparing for 5.0 cert exam.

You can use vcenter 5.1 to prepare for the exam. As the VCP-DV is exam covers the topics which are similiar to vCenter 5.0 and vCenter 5.1

You will need an active VMware subscription and license. I got my at vSphere 4.0 Std and vCenter 4.0 Std (and 4.1 Essential Plus kit for testing servers).

You will need to upgrade your licenses to 4.1 or 5.0 (depending what you need) then get the relavent license keys.

This would then allow you to get the ISOs.

Please note that the linux version (downloadable vCenter Appliance) is for 5.0 and above if I am not wrong.
