Problem with bridged and NAT

Hi to everybody,

I've some problem with vmware workstation 7.1.4 build-385536 and networking.

If I setup the guest to use a bridged networking, the performance of upload and download rate in the vm are so degraded.

If I switch the vm network to NAT, the performance are so good (same on the host OS) but random (2-3 times per hour) the vm lose the connection (in xp vm, the network try icon say "Local area connection are now disconnected" -> "Local area connection are now connected"): for exemple, if the ssh connection is open, the session are disconnected.

The host NIC is Broadcom NetWtreme 57xx Gigabit with the following setting:

Row Control -> Disabled

Priority & VLAN -> Prority & VLAN Enabled

Proxy ARP Offload -> Enabled

Proxy NS Offload -> Enabled

Speed & Duplex -> Auto

VLAN ID -> 0

Can you help me?

Thank you so much

Check if no antivirus is messing up with the networking. DIsable anything on the host that may be interfiring on the network communication doing analysis of net packets.

VMware NAT service is unstable - try to restart it if the connection dies

Please make sure that you host network cable plugged properly and getting continuous internet.  Also make sure that you are using different IP block in you host and guest.
