Encryption

I'm new to VMWare. I'd like to buy a laptop and us VMWare to install:

1. Vista

2. XP

3. My Old Computer

4. An XP or Vista Sandbox

5. Perhaps a Linux Distro

Questions:

1. Am I trying to do too much?

2. We use PGP Whole Disk Encryption with our laptops. How will that effect VMware and the ability to use it? I could consider another encryption program, if necessary, but the laptop must be wholely encrypted.

I appreciate your anticipated reponses.

It's all possible. For your "3. My Old Computer" you will probably have to use P2V converter.

If your virtual OS HDD resides on an encrypted host partition/disk then guest OS HDD performance will be slightly degraded.

Welcome to the forums.

Just to add to what birdie said, I have used Workstation on a laptop with SafeGuard's encryption product and everything worked quite well.

Good Luck!
