File copy causes LCPU0 to max out

Why and is this expected behavior to have LCPU0(or any cpu) to be pegged at 100% during a file copy from one dir to another? I wouldn't think so.

Are you talking about performing the file copy via the Service Console? The service console only uses CPU0 it does not utilize (or knows about) any other CPU in the system. It depends on what else you have going on in the SC as to it's utilization (and if there are any VM's utilizing it as well).

yes, file copy via the console. It is just running so slowly, normal file copies usually go at a pace of 1gb per minute, it is transfering at rate of about 100mb per minute now. And this is with only 2 vms powered up and idle on the system. any thoughts?

Check your speed and duplex on the nics esxcfg-nics -l[/code] Make sure they're inserted properly. From what I've seen 9 times out of 10 slow network response = mismatched duplex.
