Moving Template

Hi,

I am looking for how to move template to another host.

They were first created on a particular host inside my esx cluster and when I select the template on "Summary" I see "host : 192.168.1.1"...

I'd like to "attach" (may be it's not the right word but it's the idea ;-p) it to another esx server (inside the same cluster).

Can't find how to ?!?

Any ideas ?

Thx for reply...

Running :

VmWare Infra 3.0.1

VC 2.0.1

All last updated

Cluster HA&DRS configured and fully functionnal with 3 esx hosts

Hello,

If they ESX hosts share the same disk, as they usually do in a cluster, you can simply remove it from VC ( right click on it and remove from inventory ) then navigate to it via the datastore in VI, right click the config file and add it back to inventory.

Simplest way is to convert the template back to a VM, migrate it to the host you want the template on, and then convert it back to a template.
