wel I isntalled gOS, or Green OS, created by Google and some collaberators. Its a very innovative Linux based(Ubuntu) OS that is similliar to MAC OS and comes iwth updating software.
1.Linux based, so fairly secure.
2.Compatible with other linux programs.
3.Easy program installation using the packet manager.
4.Automatic Updates
5.Easy to figure out shortcuts.
6.Very compatible, can do office documents using openoffice.org.
7.Fast, Friendly, Easy.
8.Very low resources.
9.Scalable performance.
If you want to learn Linux very, very easily or want an easily used OS, download hte green OS ISO file today. Runs great on a virtual machine.

I've been a NIX user for years, and having a Nix based OS made me remember the fun those installations are. gOS is a very simple to use OS and loves to be user friendly. We all like simple OSs, and the first Nix based OS to be easy was the Linspire OS, similliar to a bastard child of Windows and Linux, it behaved closer ot windows then linux, attempting ot get people to convert. Orriginally released or Lindows, Linspire was very user friendly. But then what about MAC OS X? People seem to like it for some reason(i really have no preferences), and gOS is VERY clsoe to it. In fact it was designed in part by the same man who designed hte Mac OS UI. It's fluid, good looking, fast, scalable, and like mac, pollished to the extreme. Like the child of Mac OS X and a mint leave, it was simple to get used to. It comes with a Doc like interface and was fast. Very fast. In fact it at most used 4% of my processor before I scaled the performance in the settings tab. The doc was nice, and worked well. It had simple links for Youtube, Firefox, Gmail, Blogger, and other applications. It performed very close to Macs Dock and Open Dock by Stardock. It scrolled, could be changed in size, have more applications added to it, and was pretty.
However for every good there is a thorn. What thorns are here? Untill scaled up, the performance is somewhat lagful, but deffinatly useable, not so much a minus as it is a smaller plus. It was designed ot run on a small time system, so it generally uses 80 FPS. After scaling to 200 FPS it used clsoer to the resources set aside for it. It was very fast at that point, outperforming Mac. however like Mac and Windows, it does have some program crashes. I wonder if maybe the automatic updates will fix this in the future. It took awhile to set up the Youtube and fun stuff on the internet, but eventually I got it all working. the sound quality is nice, but somewhat subpar in volume, and hard to change.
Now the fun stuff. It comes with previously mentioned toys, a media player for videos(very compatible), a music player that can sync to ipods, zunes, and other MP3 players, firefox for internet fun, and GAMES! YES GAMES! some simple but fun games, with more available online. Course you could always use WINE for installing other games for such things as windows based games. Course some directX feautures deffinatly won't work. The packet manager was simple to use and had a TON of applications. The biggest problem is running out of space. Uninstalling was simple thoguh using the packet manager.
Finally, in conclusion, I really enjoyed using this OS and hope to use it more in the future. The features were great, it was fast, it was friendly, and jsut damned if I didn't cream my pants. I dropped my cerial bowl while using it. Its pretty to boot! AND USE!
9/10 Gold recomendation
pros:
fast, simple, easy, pretty, compatible, web based stuff and tons of it
cons:
Somewhat FPS laggy like Mac OS on a low end mac. Could be scaled. Always needs ana thernet connection for first setups. Can be used with a wireless card, but configuring wireless was a HUGE pain.
