I cannot get the VMWare Tools installed no matter what i do! I keep getting an error that says the file is missing or deleted and it asks if i want to reload it, which does nothing.

I have Ubuntu installed on OS X

Can someone help?

More detail, such as what version of Ubuntu and Fusion you're using, what you've tried, and a more precise error message, would be useful. Without this information, the best anyone can do is to tell you to read the help.

Help > VMware Fusion Help > Creating Virtual Machines > Installing and Upgrading VMware Tools > To Install or upgrade VMware Tools in a Linux virtual machine from the command line with the tar installer

Caveat: Ubuntu 8.04 isn't currently supported and version of Tools shipped with Fusion doesn't cleanly install. See VMware Fusion 1.1.2 and Ubuntu 8.04/Linux 2.6.24 - Step By Step for a workaround.
