I have installed Windows XP with Fusion, but I am having difficulty installing any updates from Windows and other programs. Is this a known problem with Fusion? Is there something wrong with my installation of Fusion or Windows? Do I need to install run Boot Camp? I'd rather not partition my drive if a don't have to. Microsoft support can't help me because I'm running Fusion, and they don't support that. HELP!

To just say "I am having difficulty installing any updates from Windows and other programs" is a little ambiguous. Have a look at HOWTO: Ask (and Answer) Questions and provide additional information.

Sorry about the ambiguity. The update tries to install and then I get an error stating the installation terminated prematurely due to an error. There is usually no error code, although when I tried to update Dragon Nauturally Speaking I got error code 1607, which implies that I am not logged in as an administrator. I am logged in as an administrator and I even tried opening a new user account but that didn't help. I've tried updating Office 2007, and installing Adobe Acrobat and I get the same errors. Also I get the same error when I try to update vmTools.

I am running a MacBook Pro, OS X 10.5.2, Fusion 1.1.2 and Windows XP SP2.

I am having a similar problem in that windows xp downloads the updates, then initializes the updates, then indicates "some updates were not installed" which includes all of the updates.

This is not a Fusion issue per-se... Have a look at:XP will not install updates...downloads them but fails
