I finally got VMWare Fusion to work on my Mac, but I had to buy the installed product, I was unable to ever get the demo to work. I was thinking of going Parallels, because I had a project that absolutely needed PC software to work, and a friend suggested I give Fusion one more try because it was supposed to be superior to Parallels. I took his advice and bought the full program. It installed flawlessly and quickly and I've had no further problems.
If VMWare really wants to be a major player in this game, they better get with the customer support. Ask Netscape how far they got in the browser war. When you're storming out the gate with competitors in front and behind, you better pull out something fabulous. If it can't be fabulous, you better have damn good support or you'll lose your potential customer base. Had VMWare provided an easy to install demo, I would have never had to complain and I'd be singing their praises. It's a great product, don't get me wrong, but I'm in an industry where personal credibility is on the line when you suggest products that have less than superior tech support.
For now, I'll temper my praises.
