I'm looking for feedback regarding the agenda for our next VMUG meeting.

Introductions - Who am I, who the sponsors are and a tease for the upcoming topics.

Technical Topic #1 - Looking for speakers or ideas. We could discuss fiber channel load balancing, disaster recovery

Sponsor demonstration. Prepare for ooh's and ahh's. I've got another storage vendor offering to sponsor. Would you like to see something tailored to disaster recovery? Open to suggestions.

From the Field - Guest speaker talking about experiences with VMWare in the enterprise. Also looking for speakers.

Q&A.

Wrap-Up.

  • Jason

I would like to attend this. How does one go about joining the DC Metro VMUG? Or is it something you just show up at?

Proposed agenda item for next or subsequent meeting:

In discussing the challenges of deploying VMWare in large-scale production or committing critical applications to a virtualized environment, one concern seems to stand out above all - "How do I manage it?"

VMWorld Finalist Award winner, Netuitive, would like to present to the group for discussion the only self-earning (i.e. no rules or scripts) proactive performance management solution for VMWare. Only self-learning technology using real-time analysis and statistical correlation is able to:

  • Automate baselining and thresholding administration, w/o agents or rules
  • Forecast performance issues up to 2 hours in advance
  • Immediately pinpoint root cause of performance issues
  • Identify "badly-behaving" VM's and their impact on the host, other VM's, and applications.

Please let me know if you think this is a suitable topic for an upcoming meeting.

Jason: I plan on attending on April 23. Also, we would be interested in speaking at a future DCVMUG on the topic of real-time performance management for VMware.
