Error moving file or folder - File locked in Virtual Machine

Hi

We have File servers configured on Virtual machine. Now a days we are facing some strange issue in those servers. Users are not able to rename/move/delete the excel files (first time they can do this, but once the file saved and closed they can't do it again). They are getting the error saying 'It is being used by another person or program' though it is not using by anyuser/program. If we reboot the server the issue will be resolved, but again the problem persists with some other files/shares. This is not with the particular user or share.

OS in these servers is Windows 2003 Standard edition with SP1. We have upgraded to SP2 in one server and still the problem exists.

Antivirus is upto date.

I am having this problem too.  Here is the writeup, so far, as it will appear in my blog:

I was running Windows XP SP3 as a guest in VMware Workstation 7.1 on a  Windows 7 host.  In WinXP, using Windows Explorer, I selected and copied several  filenames and attempted to move those files to another folder.  Both the target  and source drives were on network drives, in the VMware sense:  they were local  drives on that computer, but they were not part of the actual virtual machine  (VM) as drive C was, so Workstation considered them network drives.  When I  attempted to paste these files into a folder on that other drive, I got this  error message:

Error Moving File or Folder

Cannot move [filename]: It is being used by another person or program.

Close any programs that might be using the file and try  again.

These files were not in use anywhere, as far as I could tell.  I was using a utility called Unlocker.   When this kind of error would occur, Unlocker would pop up, provide relevant  information, and offer to help.  In this case, Unlocker's message was, "No  locking handle found."  This was not absolutely the last word on the subject,  but I had found Unlocker to be pretty reliable.

Is there a solution to this?  Thanks in advance ...

I neglected to mention -- this is happening every time I try to move files.  It is not a problem with one particular troublesome file.  It happens with moving files, not with deleting them.  I am able to delete files, and copy files; I just cannot move files.  I have done a global change of file properties so that none are read-only.  This inability to move files occurs on all network drives.
