Virtualizing HP OpenVMS 7.3

I went through the "Guest OS" document provided by VMWare, and I didn't see OpenVMS on the list????

An old-timer like me refuses to abandon OpenVMS...

Anyone is the same position and does anyone know if VMWare will support this beloved OS?

HP OpenVMS does not run on i368 Hardware therefore as VMware does virtualisation and not Emulation you will be out of luck this trying to run OpenVMS

Hello,

HP has/had its own virtualization software for OpenVMS running on integrity hardware, I believe it is/was called HP VM. You will want to look at that as a possible solution to your virtualization concerns with OpenVMS.

Hi,

if you have OpenVMS 7.3 for VAX you can use SIMH to emulate an vax-cpu on a linux system. We are running a debian vm with 500MHz and 256MB ram to host OpenVMS. I cant tell you the version at the moment, but it running pretty good.
