If you use the VI client, you have
lots of new features including the ability to go directly to the BIOS. Very very good idea, it was sometimes difficult to do on ESX or VMware - the boot is so quick!
- go to you VM with the VI client
- stop the machine
- then Options tab
- then "Boot options"
- check "Force BIOS setup".
The machine will now boot directly to the BIOS and you'll can change the boot order settings you want to.
Another option would be to set the Boot-On Delay to a sensible value (5 000 ms), which should give you enough time to press the ESCape key.
