Hi all,
i have installed vmware server on ubuntu. For the installation i didn't have any problem and the vmware start correctly.

When I try to install a new virtual machine, i can't see graphical interface of my vm.

For example:
if I install Windows XP I see all the initial installation process (where there isn't graphic), but when the vm reboot after copying file I can't see the windows graphical interface. I see only a blak screen.

Someone could help me?

Many thanks in advance!

What version of Server are you running? Per FAQ, versions prior to 1.0.4 have a issue.

Q: If I want to power up a VM, I don`t see anything but a black screen. The console icons show hard disk/cdrom/network activity, though, so it looks the VM is up and running but I can`t access the console screen.
A: This only happens up to v1.0.3. Update to the most recent version of VMware Server and make sure to update the VMware Server Console as well.

do you use the vmware console from your ubuntu host or from a remote linux / windows machine ?
if using it locally, would you have another machine, even with low specs to install the vmware console ? (so only the console, not the full product)
