Oracle RAC using VMware Workstation?

I would like to setup an environment (for testing, not for production purposes) for Oracle RAC (10.2) using e.g. two SUSE Linux 10.2 instances (could also use 2x W2K or WXP). I need:

  • a network interface between the two nodes/VMs
  • a shared disk accessible from both nodes

Can this be done? Access to a common, shaed disk seems to be impossible because of locking the disk from the first instance started.

Any help welcome!

Hi
Erwin Heute,

You will need to use VMware Server ( Free) for your configuration, since clustering is not supported with Workstation.
