Network speed. XP in VMWare only 1000kbps compared to 2500kbps in OS X

In Mac OS X, I have connection to internet at about 2500kbps. Verified by download speeds and speed tests.

However, on XP via VMWare, the connection is only 1000kbps. WhY? Anyway to fix this? Thanks!!!
