I'm using the latest beta of VMWare Workstation 6 on Windows Vista on an Intel QX6700 Extreme processor.
I've downloaded the latest build of Startcom Linux AS-5 x86_64 (a Redhat clone). After getting to the prompt for a root password, I receive an error message:
An error occurred unmounting the CD. Please make sure you're not accessing /mnt/source from the shell on tty2 and then click OK to retry. [ OK ]
Clicking OK only redraws the error message. I cannot hit Ctrl-Alt-F7 or Ctrl-Alt-Fx to bring up a tty, so I'm unable to perform any additional operation.
I've verified the DVD ISO image against the MD5 checksum. The image is mounted as an image in VMWare.
I did some searches on this error message and others have gotten the error message on certain hardware, which leads me to believe this may be a VMWare issue.
I'm going to try CentOS 5 64-bit and StartCom AS-5 32-bit and see if they exhibit the same problem (downloading these 3-4GB images takes a while). In the meantime, I appreciate any suggestions on getting past this error.
