My Vmware WorkStation experiences:
Many times, successful installation for setting up Win 2k Server/Pro(Guest OS) on Fedora core 1 - 2.4.X (Host OS)
Many times, successful installation for setting up Redhat 9/Fedora Core 1 (Guest OS) on Win 2k Pro (Host OS)

My enviroment:
Host OS : Fedora core 2 - 2.6.8-1.521
Vmare WorkStation: 4.5.2 - 8848

Guest OS: Win 2K Pro

It is the first time I met trouble using vmware workstation.

After setup the vmware, I insert a bootable CD in the DVD Driver. 1000% sure the CD is bootable. 1000% sure the PC can startup from DVD Driver. I tested: the win 2k pro CD or others putting in my DVD driver can startup the PC.

Need help.

Thanks

If using physical CD's have you tried checking Legacy emulation in the Connection frame of the settings for the CD-ROM device?

Have you tried installing using ISO Images versus physical CD’s?

But I can not understand "Legacy emulation in the
Connection frame of the settings for the CD-ROM
device".

Click, VM (drop-down menu) > Settings > DVD/CD-ROM and in the Connection frame check Legacy emulation.

Any one have successful installed the Win2k on Fedora Core 2?

Yes

I'll ask you again, have you tried installing using an ISO Image vs. a Physical CD?

Or

Have you tried copying the i386 Folder to the virtual hard drive and starting the install using a DOS boot diskette and executing c:\i386\winnt from the command prompt?
