Thanks for responding so fast. Glad there's a known fix. I assume the problem is excerbated by AMD dual-cores since Intel single-cores never had the problem. Could you point me to some directions on how to turn cpufreq off? As far as I know, it's built into the kernel for 2.6.

In case anyone else needs the info, to turn it off use:

#chkconfig --level 12345 cpuspeed off
* Reboot the server
