I recently downloaded the VMware Server and a serial number is needed. I never received a serial number. Can someone tell me where and when a serial number should be provided.

You should be able to login to your account and get it as well.

Did you click the download link for New beta users, or for Current beta users when you downloaded Server? If you clicked Current, you will not be mailed a new serial number - go back and click New, and fill out the info.

I have a similar issue. I have beta serials but they don't work. It tells me it's an invalid serial when installing server. I sign into my account and it doesn't show any serial numbers. I checked my spam blocker and it blocked the e-mail. :(
I there any recourse?

Jeff

I have been using the beta version for a while without problems. I installed the new version and was asked for a serial number - my name and company were pre-filled on the dialog. I clicked the Get Serial button got one from the website but VM Server wouldn't accept it - "No licences matching this serial number were found."

I completed the install anyway and tried again - this time my detail were missing and I got "The serial number entered did not match any licences". This is copied and pasted from the web page, so what gives??

Same problem here, "The serial number entered did not match any licences" when entering seriel.

using clean install and i never used the beta...

tried multiple seriels (regged multiple times in order to test it)

i'm using the windows version.

a friend just tried to run the linux version and he did not have this problem

Fixed..

When filling out the reg. form i said my OS was linux, since this is the OS i'm going to be using.. the form is (apperently) asking for the host OS, wich is windows.

regget fine with my "windows seriel"

Glad you got it working, hoejholm. I thought that this question related to the host OS.

I'm running Windows on Windows, and entered Windows on the form, so mine was straightforward - it just didn't work!

Success! I re-registered and the new number was OK.

If the OS list is the key, the only thing that I can think of is that the focus was on that dropdown, and I changed it when scrolling back up the page with the mouse wheel.

Thanks for the insiration :)
