When I install wm player, it will pop up a window that tells me the software(vm player) doesn't pass the windows logo test. There's no other selection i can choose, what i can do is click yes and it will stop installation.
What's the problem? How to solve it?

Hi Icecap,

Are you installing as a Local Administrator?

What version of windows do you have?

This means you're not an administrator, and whoever is administrator on your host has configured Windows to allow only signed drivers to install (the default configuration is to allow unsigned drivers after prompting). We do certify and sign our release software but not our beta software. So essentially this boils down to, get permission to install beta software and get your admin to relax the restrictions on your host, or you'll have to wait for the official release.

I use windows xp sp2 and i installed vm player in administrator environment. Although I relaxed the restrictions on signed drivers(ignore at anytime), the problem still existed, it stopped installation after the notice window popped up.

Can't the beta version be installed in windows xp sp2? Must I wait for the official release?

It should install fine on XP SP2 -- in fact, I did that just today on my home machine -- the problem for you has got to be some Windows policy setting that's interfering (though my last guess at which one it is was wrong, evidently).

Urk, it looks worse than that (though it's still not our fault!)

A google for "has not passed windows logo testing" leads to
http://support.microsoft.com/?id=822798, which has some possible solutions (8 different ones!). Looks complicated to track down, but I hope this helps.

I have tried several solutions, but they all failed! I think I'd better waiting for the next version.

Thanks anyway.
