I have a Virtual Center 5.0 with dvSwitch 4.1
Alle my ESX hosts are vSphere 5.0 with dvSwitch 4.1.
How do I upgrade my dvswitch 4.1 to dvSwitch 5.0?
In Home->Inventory->Networking select the vDS and click the Summary tab. In the general box there is a Version displayed and there will be an Upgrade link to the right of that.
Just click the upgrade link and follow the wizard.
Hope this helps.

The process to upgrade to 5.0 is the same as upgrading from 4.0 to 4.1.
Not sure why but is it it possible that you have a host connected to the switch that has not yet been updated to 5?
If you try to create a new vDS are you given the option to create a version 5.0 distributed switch?

Ahh.. you are right.
I looked in the old vSphere installation:)
When I upgrade the dvSwitch, are there then any downtime on the wm´s that are connected to the dvSwitch?
Upgrading the vDS should not cause any VM downtime.

How did your DVSwitch upgrade go? Did any of your connected hosts experience any network drops?
Thanks
