Kernel panic - Failed at vmkdrivers/src_9/vmklinux_9/vmware/linux_scsi.c:2221 -- NOT REACHED

Hi,

Every couple of days one of our servers crashes with the message attached.

The error below always appears and the KB doesn't have anything on it.

Failed at vmkdrivers/src_9/vmklinux_9/vmware/linux_scsi.c:2221 -- NOT REACHED

Could anybody help me resolve this issue? Anybody else encountered this error?

Thanks.

Hi,

you seem to have the same problem as we have. We get the same PSOD every few weeks - see here:

So far no solution to this. What hardware are you using?

and it seems like its either bad drivers or hardware

The server is a DELL R810 with 2 XEON E7-4830 CPU's and 64GB of RAM.

Is connected to a DELL MD3220 by a SAS HBA.

It is in a Failover cluster with a twin server with same specs, but only one of them crashes.

It seems that after disabling interrupt mapping on the host the server is now stable following the instructions from link below.

It's been 3 weeks with stable results.

I have this same issue only on one host.

Its a Dell R810 as well connected to a MD3220 direct attached SAN using SAS HBAs.

Clearly a hardware driver issue if you had the same issue with the same hardware.
