VMWare 7.1.5 / 8.0.2 on Kubuntu 12.04 (Linux 3.2 Kernel)

Hello,

I try to install VMWare Workstation 7.1.5. on Kubuntu 12.04 - but the compiling don't work. I found these patch

http://weltall.heliohost.org/wordpress/2012/01/26/vmware-workstation-8-0-2-player-4-0-2-fix-for-linu...

and I try it with 7.1.5 and Player 4.0.2. The patch first works - during compiling the sources no error accures. But either Workstation nor Player works. the workstation app crashes and the Player freezes after clicking the "Apply" button of the licence screen.

Any suggestions?

best Regards

Tools for Player 4.0.2 will only work correctly with WS 8.0.2.  You are not likely to be able lto use 3.1.5 Tools on a WS 8 VM.  They will work with WS 7.1.5.  You can download earlier versions of player (before 8.0.2).  Try using the 3.5.1 Player.

If you follow the link, you will see, that there is also a patch for WS7.1.5....

And as I said - I was trying first with WS 7.1.5. and then (after deinstall WS 7.1.5) with PLayer 4.0.2....
