Hello,

we get those alerts from different agents all the time, we can't see any specific issues in the log, does anyone have any idea what the problem is?

We are running 4.4 on Linux

Alert Name:      Server not available in Hyperic
Alert Description:     A server(Hyperic client) is not available

Hasn't anyone had the same problem, we have had this problem with 4.3 as well as 4.4 and on several of our agents. We get this alert almost every day?

Does anyone have any idea what could be the cause?

Could it be some plugins/scripts that we have that take too long time to execute?

    Hi,

The most common cause of this is when clocks are not on sync with agents and the server.

What is the alert definition that is firing?

    Thanks for your response

The clock are in sync. How close in sync do they need to be?

The alert is for platform Linux

    If Condition:  Availability = 0.0%

I have checked in the the log files but I can't find anything that explain this

    Hi,

Clocks should be within 45 seconds and as close to 0 as possible. The time offset is measured by the agents and server and shows up in the HQ Health Report for the agents (displayed in ms)

It could be a tuning issue or even a backend database issue.

How many platforms do you have?

Are you using Open source or enterprise edition?

    What is your database backend?
