Workstation 8 doesn't work properly with bridge networking

Hello,

I have recently updgrade to Workstation 8. I have setup some windows machines (7 y 2008R2 server). If I configure bridging network mode, then dhcp assigment does not work. There is no problem with Linux Virtual machines or NAT mode.

I am using my wireless interface (Intel Wifi 1000BGN) an windows 7 64 bits (laptop).

Does anyone have a solution?

Thanks in advance,

Mariano.

Run the virtual network editor.  Disable automatic bridging.  Specify your wireless adapter to be bridged to VMnet0.

Of course I have tried this before. This is not the problem. I have updated both drivers (wireless on host and ethernet on guest) but the problem is still appearing.

It may be a bridging issue from wireless nic to ethernet adapter.

In most cases bridging a virtual ethernet adapter to a physical adapter should work. Can you check the networking setup for your router? Is your router configured to only hand out DHCP addresses to any node? Are you using MAC filtering or anything like that on the router? I would start by checking your network/router configuration to find why the VM is not getting a DHCP address.
