Passthrough - abhängigkeiten abschalten?

Hallo allerseits,

 

ich such hier schon den ganzen tag und bin nahe adran zu verzweifeln.

 

ich hab hier laufen das

Asus P45QVM-DO      (Sowohl der Chipsatz als auch der CPU unterstützen VT-d)

3,1 GHz dual core

LSI MegaRaid 150-6 (PCI Raid Controller)

SkyStar HD2 (PCI)

 

es läuft ESCI4.1

 

soweit so gut....

wenn ich jetzt aber die TV-Karte über passtrough mit vSpherClient makieren möchte wird wegen "abhängigkeiten" au der RaidController makiert,

nach dem neustart sind dann keine Datenspeicher mehr zu sehen, keine VMs start/erstellbar. Erst wenn ich den RaidController wieder rausnehme,

und auch die TV-Karte wegen "abhängigkeiten" rausgenommen wird, läuft nach einem weiteren neustart alles wieder gud.

 

Ich würde nun gern

a) (am aller liebsten) die "abhängigkeiten" 'abschalten' bzw nur die TV-Karte(und später noch mehr) bei passthrough makieren, OHNE probleme mit dem

     RaidController zu bekommen

b) einen PCI-E RaidController der evtl ~60-80€ kostet (ich weis das maß net so ganz). es müssen au keine 6-Ports sein, es reichen eigentlich schon 2 mit

     Raid 1 unterstützung

c) find ich am aller hässlichsten: es gibt "HDD-Emulatoren", ähnlich einer Raid karte, wird aber net mit PCI sondern mit einem weiteren SATA kabel an

     das mainboard verbunden

 

Bitte helft mir - ich bin am verzweifeln

ich meine mal gelesen zu haben, das man irenwas im bios umstellen muss/kann, wenn ja wo?

 

PS: hab gestern auch ein video von vmware gesehen, bei ihm gings, hat nur eins von vielen makiert ohne "abhängigkeiten" auszulösen

If I understand the translations of your post,  you wish to enable just the DTV PCI device.  But when you enable it, the RAID controller is also enabled which you do not want.  Because both devices are on the same PCI bus, ESXi has to reset the entire bus when the VM with the device is started up.  That's the default setting.  You might be able to get around that.  See the Problems with Device Assignment Dependencies section in http://vmware.com/files/pdf/techpaper/VMW-vSphere4-directpath-host.pdf.

You´re right!

 

I read the pdf, and found on site 4 "Problems with Device Assignment Dependencies".

When I understood the text, I have to add something like that for my RaidController in "/etc/vmware/passthru.map"

 

# Qlogic 8Gb FC card can not be shared

I tried several options but it doesnt work

 

here you can see the options i added at least

 

1000 1960 d3d0      false

1000 1960 flr           false

1000 1960 link         false

1000 1960 bridge     false

1000 1960 default    false

 

could you or anyone else please help me?

Yes, I got 3 alltogether, but it doesn't change anything

Do I have to set an option to enable the .map file?

Because I added the TV-Card with the option "true" and also nothing changed....

I give up. I'll send the RaidController back and will buy this one:

Because its marked as "compatible" on here:

and its also a PCI-E card. I tested a PCI-E graphic card and when selected the TV card, nothing happens on the graphic card, because

the PCI-E slot is connected on another chip.

 

 

If you know any problems with the new Controller, PLEASE POST!

I'll also tell you if the controller works correctly when it is arrived

desweiteren ist er auch ein PCI-E RaidController. Ich hab eine PCI-E Grafikkarte getestet, und als ich da die TV-Karte makiert haben,

hat sich an der Grafikkarte nichts geänder, das liegt daran, das der PCI-E Slot an nem anderen Chip hängt...

 

Wenn jemand irgendwelche Probleme mit dem Controller kennt, DANN BITTE POSTEN!

Ich werde euch bescheid sagen ob der Controller korreckt läuft, wenn er angekommen ist

Hi all,

 

the new RaidController arrived yesterday and up to now, it´s still working perfect.

Down on the bottom, you can see my friends and my System running at the moment, and maybe someone can

add it into the compatible list

der neue RaidController ist gestern angekommen, und bis jetzt läuft er perfekt

Unten könnt ihr das momentan laufende System von meinem Freund und mir sehen,

und vielleicht kann es ja jemand zu der kompatiblen liste hinzufügen.

Yes,

now its working very good. I can see the two different chips, the PCI-E chip and the chip for all the PCI slots,

so i think esxi can only mark all or none.

Watching TV with the virtual stream server is working also very good.
