Uninstall error on windows 2008 server

Hi,

I installed vmware player 3 flawlessly on my windows 2008 server, but when I try to uninstall it, it says the following:

"Error: This product can only be installed on Windows XP or later.

Windows 95, 98, ME, NT, and 2000 are not supported."

I could use some help.

Thanks in advance

Apparently this error message should actually read "VMWare installer (and uninstaller) refuses to run on servers running Microsoft Hyper-V (or other virtualization environment). You must uninstall other virtualization environments before installing or uninstalling VMWare virtualization products".

The same problem happened to me when I (a) installed VMWare Workstation, (b) installed the Hyper-V role, and (c) attempted to remove VMWare Workstation. It's a flaw in their installer logic, but I wouldn't hold your breath for a fix. Either uninstall the Hyper-V role (if you can), or follow the manuall uninstallation suggestion provided by the other member in this thread.
